Suite "Pou Sto" for violin, double bass, and piano - Patrick Neher
Winner of the 2003 International Society of Bassists Composition Contest (chamber music division), Suite Pou Sto (2002) is a virtuosic work of about 20 minutes. It demands extremely competant playing from each member of the ensemble. Each of the four movements is programatic, with titles: Window Panes, The Materials Waltz, Treehouse Aria, and Ursa's Flight. It was premiered to critical acclaim at the ISB Convention in Richmond, Virginia, USA on June 5, 2003 by Mark Rush, violin, Tannis Gibson, piano, and Patrick Neher, double bass.
