Three Short Pieces for Solo Cello (2002-7) by Jeff McAuley

Three moderately challenging pieces by this well-known composer: "Bahari Beklerken" in a Turkish style, "Impromptu" in a modern lyrical style, and
"Patty's Day Out," a fun, bouncy tune that explores the range of the cello. Each of the pieces can stand alone or be played as a full concert work. Aprox 12 minutes.

Neher - Crystals for Double Bass and Electronics (2008)

This wild and crazy piece explores performance with pre-recorded electronic sounds that were MIDI produced from a photograph of crystals The bassists also uses live delay and reverb elctronics to enhance the interaction. All the music is scored. Duration is about 11 minutes.

Patrick Neher - City Vignettes for Contrabass Flute and Double Bass with Piano
or for two double basses and piano (2008),

Commissioned by Peter Sheridan, low flutes specialist. This wonderfully playful piece, in three short movements, extended the range of the contrabass flute and provides plenty of challenge for both the bassist and the flutist. Piano is supportive.

Music 4 Friends by Patrick Neher
Patrick Neher's compositions have recently been released on the CD: "Music 4 Friends" (ISGBA0200806). All the music on the CD was commissioned by the performers including UA Faculty - Mark Rush and Tannis Gibson; Accessible Contemporary Music Ensemble (Chicago) members - Hulya Alpakin and Emi Tanabe; and Melbourne, Australia's Peter Sheridan on contrabass flute!, Neher, and Chanwook Park, pianist.
Selections include: Suite for Violin and Piano, Duo Eclatant for violin and bass, Ditties for Piano, and City Vignettes for contrabass flute, double bass and piano.
 

Neher -Mucumber McGee and the Half-Eaten Hot Dog for soprano, tenor, double bass and piano. Based on the children's book of the same name by Patrick Loehr, the story tells of a young boy who is afraid that he has eaten an un-cooked hotdog that will result in his demise. His mother comes to the rescue, telling him that hot-dogs are pre-cooked. A wonderful light-opera for children and adults of all ages. Jazzy and tuneful, of moderate challenge.

Looking Glass Waltzes for solo piano (2008) by Patrick Neher

A commissioned work (by Hulya Alpakin) that was premiered on Chicago public radio as part of an Accessible Contemporary Music and PianoFort Chicago concert series. The piece has five waltzes suitable for concert or dance accompaniment, individually or as the group. Medium to challenging level of playing.
